Smoking In Sienna

with 3 comments

Latex Lady has told a story, called Rubber Smoke, about how her latex burqa got polluted by cigarette smoke.  She didn’t like it and I sympathise.

Her story reminded me of something that happened whilst I was away, when I was sitting in a cafe in Sienna.

I was in this very full and good cafe having a rather nice pizza for lunch with a very good half-bottle of the local vino, when two rather attractive girls came and stood a couple of metres away waiting for a table.

Strangely, the clientele was more or less exclusively male.  You probably can realise all the male fantasies that the girls aroused and I won’t bore you.  But they were both in very short skirts, had legs that a lady like me would die for and had quite a few buttons in their shirts unbuttoned.  So let’s say that most of the men at the cafe were eyeing them up, even if they were with girlfriends, wives or partners.

The girls were preening themselves a bit and showing off.  In fact I was getting quite amused as they put their legs forward, stroked themselves, stretched upwards on their feet and did all the things that girls do to get noticed.

Oh! What I would have given to be that young.  And beautiful!

Then one took out a packet of cigarettes, handed one to her friend and then took one herself.

Most of the male interest immediately subsided and they went back talking about the football or the architecture and works of art of Sienna.

It could make a sketch for Mel and Griff.  I couldn’t write it but it does illustrate most peoples’ views to smoking.

  1. Doesn’t surprise me and would have been a turn off for me as well. I forget there are still eating establishments which allow people to smoke inside. Most states in the US don’t allow this and many such as Arizona have limitation to where people can smoke outside any public place.

  2. In Italy you can’t smoke inside or under the awning over the outside seating. The girls were queueing outside in the street.

  3. Even that would have not been permitted in Arizona.
