Overract On Swine Flu?
I don’t know and it’s at times like this that I miss my late husband and especially his scientific, medical and statistical knowledge, and general common sense.
But read this article on the BBC.
Apparently, most, if not all of the deaths in Mexico have occurred in Mexico City, which is at high altitude and is severely polluted. I’ve only experienced such conditions once and that was in Quito in Ecuador. I felt like death and I didn’t have any serious medical problems.
Now, if you take the UK, it’s low altitude and not very polluted. Also, there is plenty of Tamiflu. And I suspect those that have the flu are seen early by medical staff. Now most of those who have travelled to Mexico have come from fairly advanced countries, where if they have a problem it can be sorted.
Let’s say that I’m mildly optimistic.
I did hear one recycled joke again. Apparently, my local hospital has done a deal with the local Indian restaurant to create a special range of nutrious popadams. They can be slid under the door to the most seriously infected patients.
But governments and the press want the worse for their own devious reasons.
Mexican Blackberries
No-one wanted them in Waitrose this morning.
So I bought two punnets.
