Where Was The Whistleblower?

without comments

Yet another health scandal in the UK!

It seems to have taken an age to get to the coroner.

But where was the whistleblower?  Surely someone must have known.

Thou Shalt Not Snitch (Or Grass)

This story illustrates one of the worst facets of our society.

It illustrates how professionals close ranks, when their integrity is questioned.  Just look at how lawyers tie you in knots when you try and get recompense for something that you think they have done wrong.

Now, I don’t know too much about the story, but if you look at the support the nurse has, from respectable organisations and especially the BBC, who used her films on the very serious program, Panorama, then I suspect you may feel that the professional body has acted at variance with a lot of opinion.  After all, the nurse didn’t cause any patient to suffer physically.  Which, it can be argued is not what actually happened.

Health professionals have form in keeping things quiet.  You only have to look at the scandal of what happened in Bristol. I seem to remember that one doctor was threatened when he tried to expose what went on.  But I may be totally wrong.

We must give all whistleblowers full protection.
